What’s your favorite F45 workout and why?
I love the cardio workouts the most. Athletica and Hollywood are probably my favorites. I like the short, high-intensity bursts that Athletica brings and I love the “obstacle course” style that Hollywood offers.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised right here in Louisville, KY. My mother is one of fourteen children, making me 8 of 30 grandchildren. Good Catholic family…lol. So it’s been nice to stay close to family! I graduated from St Xavier High School and earned a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Speed School at the University of Louisville. I went to work for DuPont after school, but currently work for Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark, traveling all over the world making bourbon, tequila, vodka, rum, and scotch!
Fun fact about you?
I’ve been a competitive baseball coach for my 17-year-old son for about 10 years. I’m a stat/scout/strategy guy! I’m also an Eagle Scout and mentor youth trying to achieve the same award. I have been surfing in Maui and Waikiki Beach in Hawaii!
When I’m not working out, you can find me at Rumors eating Hot Chicken Wings! I’m a meat-eater… so a steak and potato from Stony River are also a personal favorite! This is why I work out!!
What’s your favorite hobby outside of F45?
Gosh…I love movies and music. I like to play golf and I’m a little bit of a Walt Disney World geek. Walt and I share the same birthday!
What does F45 mean to you?
I’m a sucker for competitions. Tell me something is difficult or challenging and I can’t back down from jumping at an attempt. I love how F45 workouts change every day. Even the unique themed workouts vary every time you try them, week to week. The coaches are all awesome! They know how and when to push each person the right way and that’s because they pay attention to your specific pace, your weight choices and your progress. It makes me work harder because I don’t want to let them down. They invest themselves in me, so I work hard to deliver for them! The other members are also a lot of fun! We suffer together, we improve together and we encourage and motivate each other. No one takes themselves too seriously and I think that helps each of us not fear to test our limits. This translates to helping us set new personal records every week. You notice when a teammate isn’t there and look forward to seeing them. That type of friendly, family atmosphere makes it so much fun working out!
